Alix is a Denver based sculptor with a focus mainly in figurative works. Originally from Michigan, she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007.

Her subject matter focuses on anatomy, movement, and a touch of the grotesque. A lover of creature/character design and classical sculpture, her work celebrates the beauty and complexity of the human form. The play on exaggerated physical features in her sculpture is often a nod to the idea of the evolution of skeletal structures throughout time, as well as a touch of the fantastical. Using primarily oil and water based clays, her work has more recently begun exploring other materials such and paper mache, wood, plaster, and metals to feature both human and animal forms.

Alix is currently a freelance artist in Denver, CO, sculpting for special effects studios and specialty exhibitions. She teaches Sculpture and Form with Flux Studio and Gallery in Denver, shows in galleries throughout Colorado’s Front Range, and is an Associate member with the National Sculpture Society.
